FBN’s Key Programs Including “Mornings with Maria” Nab Year-Over-Year Growth in Total Viewers
FOX Business Network (FBN) ended the first quarter of 2021 with signature programs Varney & Co. (weekdays, 9AM – 12PM/ET) and Larry Kudlow’s debut program, Kudlow (weekdays, 4PM/ET) earning placements among the top 15 business programs on television, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Rounding out Q1 2021, FBN’s Business Day programming (9:30 AM-5 PM/ET) drew in 195,000 total viewers and 20,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo, while the network’s Market Hours programming (9 AM-4 PM/ET) netted 201,000 total viewers and 21,000 viewers in the A25-54 demographic.
FBN’s Varney & Co. (weekdays 9 AM–12 PM/ET) hosted by Stuart Varney was the network’s most-watched show with 265,000 total viewers across its live three hours. Varney also earned an 8 percent audience increase in the coveted A25-54 demo year-over-year. Also placing among the top 15 business programs on television, FBN’s newly launched Kudlow, hosted by former NEC Director Larry Kudlow, nabbed an average of 188,000 viewers.
During the pre-market hours, Mornings with Maria (weekdays 6-9 AM/ET) anchored by Maria Bartiromo ushered in nearly 5 percent audience growth across total viewers and drew in 15,000 25-54 demo viewers for the quarter. Bartiromo’s weekly primetime program Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street (Fridays, 9PM/ET) as well as WSJ at Large with Gerry Baker (Fridays, 9:30 PM/ET) and Barron’s Roundtable (Fridays, 10PM/ET) all posted growth in total viewership quarter-over-quarter.
The majority of the FBN’s signature programs ranked among the top programs on business television in total viewers. In addition to Varney and Kudlow, The Evening Edit with Elizabeth McDonald (weeknights, 6-7PM/ET), CAVUTO: Coast to Coast (weekdays 12-2PM/ET), Making Money with Charles Payne (weekdays 2-3PM/ET), The Claman Countdown (weekdays 3-4PM/ET), FOX Business Tonight (weekdays, 5-6 PM/ET), Mornings with Maria (weekdays, 6-9 AM/ET), Kennedy (Monday- Thursday, 8-9PM/ET), and Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street (Fridays, 9 PM/ET) all ranked in the 20 most-watched programs on business television.
Additionally, FBN ended the first quarter of the year delivering the top three cable news programs with affluent audiences ages 25-54. The Claman Countdown anchored by Liz Claman was the number one program with a high-income 25-54 audience on cable news, followed by CAVUTO: Coast to Coast anchored by Neil Cavuto and Making Money with Charles Payne.
On the digital front, the first quarter of 2021 was the highest quarter ever for FOXBusiness.com unique devices and page views. The network’s website site saw a 79 percent increase in page views year-over-year, and a 65 percent growth in unique devices compared to Q1 2020.
