FOX BUSINESS NETWORK’S VARNEY & CO. AND KUDLOW CLOSE OUT THE SECOND QUARTER AS TWO OF THE TOP 10 PROGRAMS IN BUSINESS NEWS
FOX Business Network (FBN) ended the second quarter of 2021 with signature programs Varney & Co. (weekdays, 9 AM – 12 PM/ET) and Kudlow (weekdays, 4 PM/ET) earning placements among the top 10 business news programs with total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Rounding out the second quarter of 2021, FBN’s Business Day programming (9:30 AM-5 PM/ET) drew in 169,000 viewers, while the network’s Market Hours programming (9 AM-4 PM/ET) netted 172,000 viewers.
Varney & Co. continued to lead the way for FBN, delivering the most watched program across the network. The signature market-open program averaged 230,000 viewers and 21,000 in the A25-54 demo for the quarter. Larry Kudlow’s eponymous market-close program Kudlow delivered another strong quarter, averaging 176,000 viewers and 14,000 A25-54 for the quarter.
Notably, FBN delivered three of the top 15 programs in median income for all of cable news with the A25-54 demographic for the quarter. These programs include Kennedy (M-Th, 8 PM/ET), Making Money with Charles Payne (weekdays, 2 PM/ET) and FOX Business Tonight (weekdays, 5 PM/ET), which all had audiences with over $117,000 in median income this quarter. Year to date, FBN is delivering five of the top 15 programs in cable news with A25-54 median income.
The majority of FBN’s weekday programming ranked amongst the most watched programs in business news with viewers in the second quarter. In additional to Varney & Co. and Kudlow, Cavuto: Coast to Coast (weekdays, 12-2 PM/ET), The Evening Edit with Elizabeth MacDonald (weekdays, 6-7 PM/ET) and Making Money with Charles Payne all delivered top 15 programs in business news. During pre-market hours, Mornings with Maria (weekdays, 6-9 AM/ET) tied the fourth highest rated quarter the show has ever had with viewers. The program averaged 116,000 viewers during the second quarter.
Month over month, Making Money with Charles Payne, The Claman Countdown (weekdays 3 PM/ET) and Kennedy are all up with total viewers. In the A25-54 demo, Mornings with Maria, Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street (Fridays 9 PM/ET), WSJ at Large with Gerry Baker (Fridays 9:30 PM/ET) and Barron’s Roundtable (Fridays 10 PM/ET) are all up compared to May. Notably, WSJ at Large with Gerry Baker was up 250 percent in June with A25-54 vs. the prior month.
FOXBusiness.com saw its fourth best quarter ever in page views and unique devices. During the second quarter, FOXBusiness.com saw strong traffic, up 15 percent in page views and 18 percent in unique devices year over year according to Comscore.
