FOX BUSINESS NETWORK OVERTAKES CNBC AS NUMBER ONE NETWORK IN BUSINESS DAY VIEWERS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE JANUARY 2020

“Kudlow” & “Varney & Co.” Deliver Top Two Programs in Business News

NEW YORK – April 26, 2022 – FOX Business Network (FBN) ended the month of April as the number one network in Business Day viewers for the first time since January 2020 during the critical hours of 9:30AM – 5 PM/ET, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, FBN’s signature post-market program Kudlow (weekdays, 4PM/ET) hosted by Larry Kudlow, continued its reign as the highest-rated business program on television, while Stuart Varney’s Varney & Co. (weekdays, 9 AM-12 PM/ET) placed second.

As the markets reacted to the ongoing war in Ukraine, rising gas prices and inflation concerns, FBN swept CNBC in Business Day, garnering 203,000 total viewers to CNBC’s 201,000. Notably, FBN delivered the top programs surrounding the market open and close, with Kudlow placing first in all of business news, closely followed by Varney & Co. April marked the seventh consecutive month Kudlow (278,000 viewers) beat CNBC’s Closing Bell (202,000 viewers), a 38% advantage and the second straight month Varney (263,000) outpaced CNBC’s Squawk on the Street/Techcheck (215,000). Meanwhile, Mornings with Maria (weekdays, 6-9 AM/ET) bested CNBC’s Squawk Box during the critical 7 and 8 AM/ET hours with a 7% and 4% advantage, respectively, while Barron’s Roundtable (Saturdays, 10 AM/ET) beat CNBC for the second month in a row with a 27% advantage.

Additionally, The Evening Edit with Elizabeth McDonald (weekdays, 6 PM/ET), The Claman Countdown (weekdays, 3 PM/ET) anchored by Liz Claman, CAVUTO: Coast to Coast (weekdays, 12-2PM/ET) anchored by managing editor Neil Cavuto, Making Money with Charles Payne (weekdays 2 PM/ET), FOX Business Tonight (weekdays 5 PM/ET), Mornings with Maria, Kennedy (Monday through Thursday, 8 PM/ET), Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street (Fridays, 7 PM/ET), Wall Street Journal at Large with Gerry Baker (Fridays, 7:30 PM/ET) and Barron’s Roundtable all rounded out the top 25 business news programs this month.

For the month of April, FBN also placed four of the top business programs with affluent audiences among the 25-54 demo in cable news. Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street was the number three program with a median income of $154,800, while American Dream Home (Tuesdays, 8 PM/ET) Kennedy and Mornings with Maria all delivered median incomes greater than $123,100.
